If you’re a lover of art in all its forms, an avid collector, or you’re just looking for an interesting way to spend an afternoon, Carmel has a delectable array of more than 100 art galleries to choose from. Here is a sampling to whet your appetite.

Mountainsong Galleries

This gallery boasts more living artists than any other gallery in the world. Joan Potter, Daniel E. As well as a diverse collection of paintings, the gallery is also home to bronze sculpture, glass art, and custom furniture. Exhibits can be visited daily. Appointments may also be made for private viewings.

Gallery Sur

The Gallery Sur is home to a breathtaking collection of custom fine art photography of Big Sur and the Monterey Peninsula as well as the Pebble Beach Golf Links. These scenic shots taken by prominent photographers such as Joann Dost, Winston Boyer, David Gubernick, and Charlene Mitchell are unique in both their locations and perspective.

Gallery Elite

The Gallery Elite is renowned for its superb collection of international fine art. This two-story gallery has more than 6,000 square feet of floor space and around 16,000 square feet of wall space, making it well worth the visit to see contemporary works by artists including sculptress Nancy Bowman, oil painters David Brayshaw, Max Yoon, Davor Zilic, and Eugene Van Essen.

Park Gallery

If you’re looking for something a little more contemporary, Park Gallery is the place go.
