There are a lot of exciting events this May in Carmel, so bring the family out to enjoy the spring fun.
22nd Annual Winemakers’ Celebration
Come on down and delight your palate with more than 100 different wines from Monterey County, paired with nibble created by renowned chefs from local ingredients. There will also be demonstrations on grape growing, wine making, cooking with wine, and wine pairing. Local musicians will also be performing at the celebration

21st Annual Carmel Art Festival
You will love the combination of painting exhibits, live sculpting, sales, and live music performed by talented local musicians, in the open air at Devendorf Park. Artists will be demonstrating their creative talents on Thursday and Friday. On Sunday there will be live sculpture in the park along with awards, silent auctions, and live music.

The Quail Motorcycle Gathering
This is the 2nd annual Quail Motorcycle Gathering, following last year’s overwhelming popularity. The 2014 event will feature a special event—”Motorcycles of the World,” which will include rare makes and models from all eras and all countries. Owners of vintage bikes can participate in a scenic 100-mile rally including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

5th Annual California Roots Music and Arts Festival
The California Roots festival continues to draw a bigger crowd each year. The three-day music and art fest is a unique event. This year’s music line-up includes: Stick Figure, The Stir Crazies, B-Side Players, J Boog, The Extenders, and Soja. Other events include live painting by artists including: Dela Cruz, Al Scholl, Chris Morphis, Jimmy Ovadia, Taylor Reinhold, and Selena Zontos, as well as yoga, and festival vendors.

The Artichoke Festival
The artichoke festival officially opens on May 18th with the renowned Artichoke Parade, which marks a celebration of the edible thistle. Simultaneous events include a car show, wine tasting, and live entertainment. Another feature of the festival, which takes place later in the month, is the Agro Art Competition. This is an imaginative event fostering 3-dimensional fruit and vegetable artwork. The festival includes a vibrant parade and two days of entertainment that encompasses all varieties of music from Mariachi to swing and country to 50’s Rock & Roll.
